Hundreds gather for sunrise service at Carillon Historical Park

Hundreds gathered this morning for Carillon Historical Park’s oldest event.

People from all walks of life showed up before the before came up Sunday and shared in a celebration of faith.

They sang hymns, played music on the bells, reads passages from the Bible and got up out of their chairs to greet strangers that were also at the service.

While some of the attendants have been coming to the service for for years, others made their first trip this morning to Carillon’s sunrise service.

“It was very cold actually,” said Christine Brunner. “But it was really heartwarming to see everyone coming together for such a meaningful cause to remember the day.”

During the service, donations were collected, with some of the money being used to fight hunger for Dayton-area families.
