Huber Heights OKs music center management deal

The Huber Heights City Council voted 8-0 Monday night to approve a 10-year contract with Music and Event Management, Inc. to manage the city's $18 million music center.

The contract will take effect June 15. The city will pay MEMI $80,650 June 15 through Nov. 30.

Beginning Dec. 1, the city will pay MEMI $225,000 a year over the initial 10-year period (2015-2024) to be the exclusive manager of the music center.

Management duties are to include marketing, booking and promoting entertainment.

The money to pay for the contract will come from the general fund, city officials have said.
