KETTERING — A woman is dead after a house fire in Kettering Sunday.

On Dec. 7, Kettering firefighters responded around to the 2600 block of E. Dorothy Lane on reports of a fire.
Firefighters said they were met with hoarding-type conditions and the front door was blocked.

Crews went through the back door and found the single occupant of the home who they took to a local hospital, according to Asst. Fire Chief Mike Miller.
Miller said the homeowner died from her injuries at the hospital.
The cause remains under investigation but fire officials said it was centered around a space heater and electrical wiring.
The identity of the woman has not been released.
