SIDNEY — The Sidney Fire Department responded to a home in the 300 block of Enterprise Avenue to find it engulfed in flames around 4 a.m. Saturday.

The Sidney Police Department arrived before the fire crews and notified the fire department that everyone was out of the structure.

While crews worked to control the fire they were notified that a person might have been inside the structure, but that person was later found safe in a residence that was away from the burning home on Enterprise Avenue.

Residents in the area momentarily lost power due to the size of the fire, but it was restored by mid-morning.

Investigators say the total loss of the property is $40,000 and the contents $15,000.

Due to the size of the burning structure, two other properties nearby received damage as well.

One received little damage amounting to about $1,000 and the other received moderate damage in the approximate amount of $20,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
