Golf cart hits girl, 6, at Darke County Fair

GREENVILLE — A 6-year-old girl was struck by a golf cart this evening at the Darke County Fair.

The Ezy Go Express golf cart, driven by David Willoughby, 53, of Arcanum, was headed north on a private drive at the fairgrounds shortly before 8 p.m. when the girl ran into the golf cart’s path, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl, who was not identified, was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The golf cart was in use as a taxi on the fairgrounds, 800 Sweitzer St. in Greenville, during the fair. It was occupied by the driver and four passengers, who were not hurt in the crash that remains under investigation.
