Former Kettering nurse pleads not guilty to stealing pain medication

DAYTON — A former Kettering Medical Center nurse accused of stealing pain medication from patients pleaded not guilty to charges Tuesday morning.

Samantha Moyer, 29, is facing two counts of tampering with drugs and five counts of theft of drugs, according to Montgomery County court documents.

She was released on her own recognizance.

The charges stem from activities between April and September 2017.

A State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy investigation alleged that Moyer stole pain medication from syringes and would replace it with saline, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

She reportedly kept the medication for her own use.

Prosecutors believe she stole medication from at least five patients.

Moyer’s next court date is Jan. 3.
