Former biker gang leader’s funeral draws hundreds to Dayton

JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County — Hundreds of people were already at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds early Friday evening for the visitation of motorcycle gang leader Harry Joseph “Taco” Bowman.

He once was one of the FBI’s most wanted men and had been serving two life sentences in prison.

Bowman, 69, of Detroit, died March 3. He was the former international president of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

The visitation and funeral this weekend could attract thousands to the Dayton area.

Visitation began at 4 p.m. today and lasts through the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to an obituary on Legacy.com. The procession from the fairgrounds to the Bear Creek Cemetery will begin at noon Saturday.

Bowman previously served as his chapter president and national vice president before becoming the international president of the Outlaws, according to onepercenterbikers.com, a listing of 1percent bikers.
