2 food delivery drivers robbed at gunpoint in West Chester

Published: Thursday, October 17, 2019 @ 10:49 AM

West Chester Twp. police believe two armed robberies involving food delivery drivers last week are connected.

A 21-year-old West Chester man reported he was robbed of $80 by an armed suspect at around 8 p.m. on Oct. 7 while delivering Marcos Pizza in the 5100 block of Aster Park Drive.

Another incident occurred the next day, when $65 worth of food from New China was stolen by an individual who allegedly brandished a handgun at the 41-year-old man on Queenswood Court at around 8:15 p.m.

Township spokeswoman Barb Wilson said police haven’t released a description of the suspect but do believe the incidents are connected.

“Both incidents involved food delivery drivers being robbed at gunpoint, within a couple days of each other and in the same area of the township,” Wilson said. “Police believe the cases to be linked because the methods were similar, the timing of the two incidents and the location. In each case, the victims were delivering food and were approached by a male suspect with a gun demanding money.”

Police are still investigating the incidents.
