Flames rip through detached garage in Preble Co.

UPDATE @ 1:30 p.m.

A detached garage and all of its contents were destroyed in a fire that’s under investigation today in Preble County.

A passerby noticed smoke coming from the structure and alerted authorities of the possible fire shortly after 11:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A fire official said the garage, a truck and a lot of other contents were destroyed. The damage estimate could be as much as $50,000, he said.

No one was injured in the incident.

UPDATE @ 1 p.m.

A detached garage was heavily damaged in a fire this afternoon in the 100 block of Quaker Trace Road.

No one was injured in the incident. A truck was parked inside the building.

Crews encountered heavy flames when they arrived on scene.

We’re continuing to gather more information.

EARLIER

Crews in Preble County are responding to a reported barn fire in the 100 block of Quaker Trace Road, which is southwest of West Alexandria.

Crews were responding at approximately 11:45 a.m.

There were no initial reports of injuries.
