WEST CARROLLTON — Friday morning’s strong winds were responsible with helping spread a fire in a West Carrollton house, causing significant damage to the structure, according to firefighters.

Crews were called to the 300 block of Windsor Court in West Carrollton around 6:50 a.m. and reported heavy flames and smoke coming from the house.
All occupants were able to safely evacuate and no injuries were reported.
An initial investigation found the fire started somewhere in the attached garage, however the exact cause was still unknown. The strong winds, consistently around 30 mph and gusting up to 60 mph, helped fan the flames and spread the fire to other parts of the house, firefighters said.
Firefighters also helped two kids in the house get some breakfast by taking them to McDonalds while crews were still investigating the blaze.
Additional details were not available.
Fire started in the garage. Wind pushed the fire through the house. Everyone made it out okay. Members of the West Carrollton Fire Dept took the kids who lived here to McDonalds to get them breakfast. @whiotv pic.twitter.com/fkMF0HrssO
