A barn burned to the ground during a fire that started Thursday night on Gordon-Landis Road in Darke County.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found the barn full of flames and one firefighter reportedly injured his arm while battling the flames.

The homeowner said he had gone into the barn to feed the dog and when he got back to the house, he turned around and found the barn on fire. Firefighters told News Center 7's Yuna Lee that they believe the cause of the fire is electrical, but the fire is under investigation.

There were no fire hydrants nearby, which made battling the fire more difficult.

"We had to haul the water from town, so we dropped a second alarm and brought in more tankers and manpower to get us water supply out here," said Kurt Troutwine of the Arcanum Fire Department.

Firefighters were still on the scene putting out the fire early Friday morning.
