Heat exhaustion causes firefighter to drop to his knees while battling fire in Clark Co.

MAD RIVER TWP., CLARK COUNTY — UPDATE @ 7:55 p.m.:

A firefighter was battling the blaze at a detached garage Sunday evening before he came out and dropped to his knees.

Crews then picked him up and took him to the medics after he became overheated in the fire reported around 6 p.m. in the 2700 block of Dayton-Springfield Road.

The residents were inside the house, which also was damaged, during the garage fire, but no one was injured.

The cause is still under investigation at this time.
