Homeowner arrested on weapons charge during FBI investigation in West Carrollton

WEST CARROLLTON — UPDATE @ 2:54 p.m. (May 30):

The property owner of a home where FBI investigators were investigating for much of the day was arrested Wednesday morning on a federal weapons violation charge, according to records.

Matthew Hetzel, 43, of West Carrollton, was taken into custody by federal officers at the home in the 4400 block of Infirmary Road at 9 a.m.

“We are conducting law enforcement activity in that area,” said Todd Lindgren, spokesman for the FBI said, declining to release any further information.

Our crews spotted FBI investigators removing wooden boxes from the home that are typically used to store ammunition or explosives, however it’s unclear what was in the boxes.
