Family escapes Tudor-style home destroyed by fire in Wayne Twp.

WAYNE TWP., Warren County — A family of five or six escaped a fire Monday night that destroyed their Tudor-style home.

Crews remained on scene hours later in the 9200 block of Lytle Ferry Road near Waynesville.

A Wayne Twp. fire official said someone in the family smelled smoke, and that the fire was believed to have started in the basement.

The fire was dispatched at 8:20 p.m., according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause is under investigation.

Crews from other departments, including Clearcreek Twp., also responded to the fire.
