DAYTON — A grand jury indicted a man accused of driving while high of marijuana and under the influence of alcohol when he hit and killed a man on Nicholas Road.
Shamare Deonte Davis, 19, of Dayton, was indicted today on aggravated vehicular homicide and three counts of OVI.
Davis was driving east on Nicholas Road around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 8, when he hit Samuel Trammell, 35, of Dayton. Trammell was walking west on the southbound side of the road due to no sidewalks being present, a crash report showed.
After hitting Trammell, Davis veered off the road and hit two trees, the report read.
Trammell died at the scene of the crash.
A warrant has been issued for Davis’ arrest.
