Thousands attend breast cancer 5K in Dayton

Thousands of people participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Saturday morning at Fifth Third Field, according to a release. The 5K is part of a national fundraising effort.

The donations from the walk went directly to the support, transportation, recovery, and other needs that arise with the diagnosis of breast cancer.

The donations to the American Cancer Society also help support breast cancer research to better understand, prevent, find, and treat the disease, read the release.

In 2018, over 1 million walkers across the country have collected over $60 million to help fight cancer.

Cox Media Group Ohio was a sponsor of the event.
