In the Butler Twp. outage, DP&L spokesman Rob Beeler said utility crews had to de-energize some homes to make it safe to clear the tree.

He said he wasn’t sure where the tree fell, but crews were hoping to have the power restored by 10:30 p.m.

At 9 p.m., the DP&L online outage map showed 94 of the 136 reported outages in Montgomery County east of I-75 and north of I-70.  Outages were initially reported just after 5 p.m., according to the online map.

In Dayton, on Odlin and West Bruce avenues, the tree there was reported down about 5:30 p.m. It was still blocking the street at 9:15 p.m.

Police on scene said they believe the line brought down belonged to cable TV.

According to DP&L, there were no reported outages along Odlin or West Bruce avenues, just west of North Main Street.
