The Dayton Public School District athletics department are providing disaster recovery for victims of Hurricane Harvey, in partnership with The Dayton Foodbank.
DPS requests that the public, from now until Wednesday, September 6, donate cases of water and new clothing for children.

— There is a slight chance for some fog early, aside from more sunshine we’re looking forward to today.It’ll be a nice day but still a bit cool with highs in the middle 40s.
TONIGHT: Clouds increase this evening and rain moves in overnight especially towards daybreak Monday. Temperatures overnight will only dip into the upper 30s and lower 40s.
MONDAY: Rain returns, and it looks to be a pretty soggy day with highs in the lower 60s.
TUESDAY: We get to near 70 with the chance for more rain. It likely will be late Tuesday into Wednesday that the best chance for rain returns. There may even be a few storms as well.
WEDNESDAY: A soggy start to your day is expected with clouds breaking in the afternoon. Highs will be in the middle 50s. Given the amount of rain that will fall between Monday and Wednesday, there could be some flooding in low areas. Streams and creeks will likely be on the rise.

A man was arrested after crashing into a wall on Interstate 75 around 11:20 p.m. Saturday.
Derrick Woods, 33, of Columbus lost control of his truck when he took the southbound I-75 ramp from westbound I-70, according to Sgt. Robinson of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Woods’ truck was struck by another vehicle after the initial crash, Sgt. Robinson said.
There were no injuries.
According to Sgt. Robinson, Woods was arrested for OVI charges and failure to control.
A crash was reported southbound Interstate 75 just before the Benchwood Road exit around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to Ohio State Patrol, no one was injured.
One man was seen in the back of a police cruiser.
It is not known if any arrests have been made.

MONROE — UPDATE @8:20 p.m.
All lanes have reopened on southbound Interstate 75 in Monroe and the crash has been cleared.
A video sent to this newsroom showed a red SUV with heavy damage to the front.
Officials said injuries were reported, but the extent of injuries is unknown.
A crash on southbound I-75 in Monroe has slowed traffic.
The crash, involving a semi-tractor trailer and a SUV, was reported after 7 p.m. about a mile south of Ohio 63. Initial reports indicate several lanes are closed.

WARREN COUNTY — Two hikers, one of which was injured, have been located and rescued at Caesar Creek State Park in Warren County Saturday, according to dispatchers.
Emergency crews responded to the state park on reports of at least one injured hiker around 1:40 p.m., dispatchers told this news organization.
One hiker was found suffering from a hip injury. One, or both of the hikers were also showing signs of hypothermia, according to officials.
Rescue crews had to use a boat to get the injured hikers to safety. Around 3:15 p.m., scanner traffic from the scene indicated both hikers were off the boat and safely on land at one of the boat ramps with medics tending to them.
