Dayton police locate car believed taken from Trotwood homicide victim’s garage

Dayton police have located a car Trotwood police have been looking for since it reportedly was taken from the garage of a home where a man was found slain in late November.

Police have been looking for the car since the weekend of Thanksgiving, when Kevin Colter, 54, was pronounced dead in his home, in the 700 block of Ellsworth Drive, the afternoon of Nov. 24. He had been stabbed multiple times. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has ruled Colter’s death a homicide.
