Jeremy Watson, 40, was on federal supervised release in April 2018 for a 2004 conviction in the Southern District of Ohio when he robbed a Dollar General Store in Lawrenceburg, Ind.

He was apprehended in Miamisburg shortly thereafter as local police assisting Indiana authorities wounded him during a confrontation outside the Byers Road Red Roof Inn.

According to court documents, Miamisburg officers encountered Watson at Red Roof Inn on April 3, 2018 after he fled there following the robbery in Indiana. Watson tried to flee on foot, but slipped and fell. While on the ground, he turned and pointed a gun toward police.

A Miamisburg officer wounded Watson “multiple times” in the left leg after the suspect pointed a “fully-loaded” weapon at police, Miamisburg Police Chief John Sedlak has said.
