Dayton Independent Film Festival returns this weekend

DAYTON — The second annual Dayton International Film Festival opens tonight and runs through this weekend.

The festival, planned by University of Dayton students and faculty, will celebrate stories from independent filmmakers from the Midwest.

This year, the festival includes 23 short films from across the Midwest and 2 feature length films with local connections.

DIFF begins Friday night, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. with the film ‘Poser.’

Films will be shown at The Neon and the Dixie Twin Drive-In over the weekend.

The closing night event will take place at the Dixie Twin Drive-In at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27. During the closing event, DIFF will screen selected local shorts and announce the 2021 Shorts Award Winners.

Masks will be required at both locations.
