DARKE COUNTY — An Ansonia man is facing felony charges after a dog was found frozen to death behind a home in December 2017, according to the Darke County Humane Society.
LOCAL WEATHER: Wednesday snow expected to cause issues
An agent with the humane society found the dog deceased, apparently frozen to death due to subzero temperatures, outside a home in the 200 block of East Cross Street in Ansonia on Dec. 26, according to a media release sent Tuesday from the humane society.
The agent reported the dog was chained up outside with no food or water readily available.
On Jan. 25, 2018 a Darke County Grand Jury indicted Robert Frazier, 36, of Ansonia on two felony charges of animal cruelty or neglect.
The Darke County Humane Society said this is the first felony indictment in the county under the new laws for animal abuse in Ohio.
