Customer tries to buy gas with fake $100 bill at Dayton BP station

A male tried to buy gas with a fake $100 bill Thursday night, according to a police report.

Dayton police responded around 9:50 p.m. to the BP gas station, 4024 W. Third St., on a fraud complaint.

The clerk who operates the gas station in the evenings noticed the bill, that stated “only motion picture purposes” on it, was counterfeit.

The suspect fled the station in a blue or teal Pontiac Grand AM or Grand Prix.

The suspect is about 5 feet 6, 180 pounds, and was wearing a dark blue shirt with gray sweatpants.
