Cruiser cam released in pursuit that ends in Troy

TROY — UPDATE: Feb. 21, 2020 @ 1:45 p.m.

Cruiser camera video has been released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol of a black SUV that was pulled over for traveling above the speed limit and following another vehicle too closely.

The video shows the driver initially pulling over on Interstate 75 north of Troy, but then fled the scene, leading the trooper on a high-speed chase into the city of Troy.

In the video, you see the driver of the SUV pull into the shopping area where Walmart and other stores and restaurants are located. Troopers and Troy Police continued to search areas surrounding the Walmart store.

A short time later, two people were found near the Troy Fire Department on South Stanfield Road and were taken into custody.

Two people are in custody after state troopers were involved in a high-speed pursuit that ended in Troy Wednesday afternoon.

State troopers initiated a pursuit on Interstate 75 in Troy around 1: 30 p.m. after observing a car that was traveling above the speed limit and was following another vehicle too closely, initial reports indicate.

The pursuit continued into parts of Troy before it ended in the Kings Chapel neighborhood, investigators said.

Two people were located and taken into custody near the Troy Fire Department Station 3, on South Stanfield Road, south of state Route 41.

Investigators said speeds in the pursuit reached 100 mph and they found what is suspected to be marijuana inside the vehicle.

No injuries were reported and additional details were not available.
