2 in custody after fleeing traffic stop, crashing into Englewood business

ENGLEWOOD — Two people have been taken into custody after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing into an Englewood business on Taywood Road Friday morning, according to police.

The incident started with the vehicle fleeing a traffic stop initiated by Clayton police, officials said.

The SUV wasn’t able to make a turn and slammed into the CR Butts tobacco shop at 607 Taywood Road around 10:25 a.m.

Police said both occupants of the vehicle fled on foot but were captured a short time later.

No injuries have been reported.
