Clayton, Englewood and Trotwood crews were on scene of what is described as a “small” fire to the ranch style home.

No one was home at the time of the fire but some kittens may or may not have been able to escape the fire, according to Clayton Fire battalion chief.

They believe a neighbor may have opened the garage door to allow the kittens to escape.

The fire caused from $8,000 to $10,000 in damages, Clayton Fire battalion chief said.

It’s unknown what caused the fire and it remains under investigation at this time.
