Police arrest suspect in hit-and-run crash outside Xenia church

UPDATE @ 10 p.m.: The male suspected of running over a woman in Xenia tonight is in custody, police said.

The driver and the woman attended an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at First United Christian Church prior to the hit-and-run crash, police said.

Police located and apprehended the suspect at East Second and South Detroit streets.

The woman has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Her condition is not known.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews are on scene of a reported hit-and-run crash at First United Christian Church in Xenia.

Police were dispatched about 8:50 p.m. to 626 N. Columbus St. on a report of a woman struck by a vehicle in the church parking lot. Initial reports indicated the suspect fled.

Police said the woman was taken to a hospital and was talking. The extent of her injuries is not known.
