Fire at Greene County home rekindles, displacing family

MIAMI TWP., Greene County — A family is displaced after a fire rekindled in Greene County early Friday morning.

Fire crews originally responded to the house in the 500 block of Golden Willow Court Thursday afternoon for a fire in an upstairs bathroom. The fire was quickly knocked down, said Miami Twp. Fire Chief Colin Altman.

Around 2 a.m. Friday, crews were called back out to the house when the fire rekindled.

"At this point we're suspecting some of the insulation kept the heat in, and fans stirred it up and got the fire going," Altman said.
The fire was through the roof directly above the bathroom when crews arrived. The fire was again knocked down quickly, he said.

The fire was contained to the second floor, but the family is displaced.

No one was injured.
