Passerby alerts residents inside burning Fairborn home

FAIRBORN — UPDATE @ 2:35 a.m: A citizen driving down Mann Avenue early Tuesday morning informed residents inside a Fairborn home that it was on fire, officials say.

Crews responded to the 300 block around 12:50 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the side of the house.

The fire was extinguished quickly and only caused damaged to the exterior of the home, according to fire officials.

The occupants inside were able to escape without any injuries. They will be able to stay at the home tonight.

The fire’s start remains under investigation.
