Fire at Winds Cafe in Yellow Springs electrical in nature, district chief says

UPDATE @ 7:45 p.m.: The Winds Cafe is expected to open this evening, despite a fire there late Tuesday afternoon believed to be electrical in nature, the Yellow Springs Fire district chief said.

Apparently, the furnace was turned on for the first time this season and that is believed to have been related to the fire that resulted, the district chief said. The cause remains under investigation.

Minimal damage was done to the business, which was closed at the time the fire was reported.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews are on the scene of a fire reported at the Winds Cafe, 215 Xenia Ave., in Yellow Springs.

The incident was dispatched just before 6 p.m. and police have stopped traffic at Corry Street.
