4 displaced in Champaign County house fire; Cause under investigation

UPDATE @ 8:25 p.m.: The cause of the Archer Street house fire that has displaced two adults and two children is under investigation, Rosewood Fire Capt. Caleb Ford said.

No one was injured in the fire that started in a second floor front bedroom, he said. Fire damage was limited to the bedroom; there was smoke and water damage to the rest of the house.

Fire crews from St. Paris and Quincy sent trucks for mutual aid.

Ford said it was too early to estimate the dollar amount in damage to the structure and contents.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews are on the scene of a house fire in the 11,000 block of Archer Street in Rosewood, Adams Twp., Champaign County.

Crews were dispatched about 6:30 p.m. on the report of a possible house fire, with the roof engulfed in flames. We have not heard of any injuries.

We’re hearing that two adults and two children have been displaced because of the fire.
