DAYTON — UPDATE @ 6:26 a.m:
Crews battled a fire that started in the basement of a home in the 400 block of S. Kilmer Street early Sunday morning.
Dayton fire crews were dispatched around 4:49 a.m. and when they arrived, residents of the home were already evacuated.
There was a visible fire in the basement through the window, according to officials.
They were able to knock out the fire quickly and no one suffered injuries as a result.
Due to crews having to shut the water supply off, as well as the potential of smoke inhalation, the family will not be able to immediately return home.
