UPDATE: Driver injured in single-vehicle crash in Miami County; Deputies reopen roadway

MIAMI COUNTY — UPDATE @ 3 p.m.:

Deputies have reopened County Road 25A south of Eldean Road in Miami County following an earlier single-vehicle crash, according to dispatchers.

The crash required crews to replace a utility pole that was split in two.

Sheriff Dave Duchek said deputies are investigating a medical emergency as a possible factor in the crash, however the incident remains under investigation.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment. However their condition was not released.

FIRST REPORT:

A stretch of County Road 25A will be blocked through parts of Thursday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash damaged a utility pole.

Emergency crews were called to County Road 25A just south of Eldean Road around noon after the crash was reported.

The driver of the truck was injured in the crash and taken to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment, however the driver’s condition was not released.

Witnesses told deputies the driver lost control before slamming into the pole, splitting it in two. Wires were not knocked down in the crash, however the road will be closed until AES Ohio crews can replace the pole.

Deputies added a crash reconstruction team has been called to investigate.
