The city of Troy suspended all water shutoffs once the Shelter in Place order was issued March 19, stated a media release. However, billing was not suspended for water, sewer, refuse and storm water charges.

People eligible for the grants include those who use city of Troy utilities and have bills that were due between March 28 and June 28.

Eligible accounts also include residential property owners and renters, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees, the release stated.

In order to apply for the grant, the Troy Foundation asks that you call the city as soon as possible and make an appointment with the billing and collection staff.

“When you come in for your appointment, your remaining 20 percent balance will be due by lump sum or, if there is a special circumstance, by establishing a short-term payment plan,” read a statement in the release.

Billing and collection can be contacted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 937-335-4151.
