The Coronavirus pandemic took a bite out of the Girl Scout cookie selling season for the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
"We were getting ready to go into our last weekend. Our troop in particular had about four booths planned," Christina Akers, leader of troop 35344 in Dayton, said.
Now a program is helping the girls get rid of their extra boxes.
The organization's Business Bosses Supporting Cookie Bosses program partners companies with troops to buy the cookies.
"I think it's great for them to come forward and support the Girl Scouts, who without this would be unable to get rid of the rest of their packages," Akers said.
Elders Advisory Services donated $300 to the cause.
"It was a way for us to do something positive for all the seniors that are maybe be home bound," said Patty Ioas, the company's owner. "And it's something positive to come out of the challenges that we're all experiencing right now."
