Pertussis, or whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that may resemble the common cold followed by a persistent cough within two weeks. Children typically receive multiple doses of the vaccine including DTaP and Tdap.

District officials ask parents and guardians to contact their healthcare provider if they are unsure of your child’s vaccination status and if your child experiences any symptoms.
