Columbus PD abolishes vice unit in wake of Stormy Daniels arrest, sex case

The Columbus police vice unit has been abolished in the wake of scandals involving the July arrest of adult film star Stormy Daniels and the indictment last week of a vice officer accused of coaxing women into sex acts in exchange for their freedom, our news partner WBNS-TV is reporting.

Police Chief tom Quinlan confirmed the disbanding of the unit Tuesday night, 10tv.com's investigative team reported.

An internal police department investigation deemed the arrest of Daniels "improper."

The vice officer accused in the sex case, Andrew Mitchell, could be sentenced to life in prison if he's convicted in the abuse of power case.
