INITIAL REPORT (MAY 16):

A 59-year-old man is accused of inviting a girl under the age of 13 into his apartment, where he allegedly touched her sexually before threatening her, according to court records.

Charles W. Young, of Clayton, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday at his North Main Street apartment on charges of gross sexual imposition and kidnapping, records show.

According to court records, Young invited the girl into his apartment in mid-April and sat with her on a couch, where he allegedly rubbed the girl under her clothing.

“After he was done she attempted to leave the apartment and Charles Young physically blocked the door with his body and told her that she was not allowed to leave,” a statement of facts filed in court Tuesday read.

Young said “that he would kill her family if she told anyone about the incident,” police wrote in the statement.

Police also said the girl tried to use her cell phone, but Young took it from her so she could not contact police.

The girl was able to eventually hide in a bathroom in the apartment and escaped through a back door after Young went upstairs to look for her, court records read.

Young is being held in the Montgomery County Jail awaiting arraignment on the felony charges.
