Job fair initially planned at local high school today canceled

The job fair initially announced at The Dayton Business Technology High School will not take place today, the high school said Monday morning.

The Dayton Business Technology High School will host a career fair for at-risk students as part of their School Choice Week.

According to a press release, local businesses, colleges, and the City of Dayton will have booths at the event.

The school serves at-risk youth in dropout prevention. Many of the school’s students face hardships like poverty, trauma, incarcerated or deceased parents, drug abuse, and teen parenting.

The event will start at 9:00 a.m Monday, January 24, at the Dayton Business Technology High School on West First Street.

National School Choice Week shows K-12 education options for children, focusing equally on traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and home education options.
