Bulk smuggling task force seizes ‘large amount’ of suspected Fentanyl, arrests 1

A Detroit, Mich., man is in the Montgomery County Jail pending a formal drug possession charge involving suspected Fentanyl.

Erick White, 40, was arrested Tuesday morning as the result of a raid in the 2000 block of Shiloh Springs Road in Trotwood, Sheriff Phil Plummer said in a prepared statement.

"A large amount of suspected Fentanyl" was seized in the raid, part of an ongoing investigation led by the Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force, which is part of the Ohio Attorney General's Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.

White, arrested just before 1 p.m., is suspected of being involved in narcotics trafficking, Plummer said.

The Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force is made up of officers from the sheriff's office, Miami Twp. Police Department, Butler Twp. Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Montgomery County RANGE Task Force, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office.
