KETTERING — You should anticipate delays and detours now through November because the Woodman Drive bridge over the Little Beaver Creek is being replaced.
Woodman Drive was closed Tuesday and will remain closed between East Stroop Road and Wilmington Pike for the duration of the project as the city continues to spend on replacing old and deteriorating spans.
According to the Montgomery County Engineer's Office, Woodman Drive will be closed in both directions until the project is complete.
The established detour will use Wilmington Pike and East Stroop Road. Drivers who frequently use this section of Woodman Drive are being asked to plan alternate routes.
Kettering police will be monitoring the adjacent neighborhood for traffic impact.
"It will be inconvenient, no doubt!" Cynthia Richardson, who travels Woodman Drive frequently, told WHIO-TV's Lauren Clark on Tuesday.
The $700,000 project follows the replacement of the Stroop Road bridge, a $1.5 million project.
Also in the project pipeline is the replacement of the Ridgeway Road bridge, at a cost of $2 million.
