KETTERING — UPDATE @ 9:58 p.m.: The body found in the creek off Hempstead Station Drive is that of Robert Tuma, 76, who was listed by Kettering police earlier in the day as an endangered missing adult.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity.
UPDATE @ 6:54 p.m.:
The male found partially in a creek off Hempstead Station Drive matches the general description of a Kettering man reported missing earlier Wednesday, Kettering police Lt. Lee Sanders said.
“We did have a man that was reported missing earlier today,” Lt. Sanders said. “We did enter him as an endangered missing adult. The person that we found matches the general description. We don’t have a positive ID at this point.”
Sanders said police are in the process of contacting the family of the endangered missing adult.
“We need to develop a positive identification first,” he said.
Sanders said male walking across the bridge about 4:45 p.m. saw the body partially in the water. There was no clear indication how long the body had been in he water.
There were no signs of trauma, no signs of foul play, the lieutenant said.
A county coroner’s investigator has taken the body to the coroner’s office, where an autopsy is expected to be performed to establish the cause and manner of death.

The body found in a creek off Hempstead Station Drive is that of a man believed to be in his 70s, Kettering police said.
An autopsy will have to determine the cause and manner of death, police said.
Police are on the scene of a body discovered in a creek off Hempstead Station Drive in Kettering.
The Montgomery County Coroner's Office has been contacted and an investigator is said to be on the way. The body was discovered within the last hour.
Police are working to confirm the name and age of the person found. We will update this developing report.
