Block heater may be to blame in Xenia Twp. barn fire

UPDATE @ 2:25 p.m.

Crews in Xenia Twp. quickly put out a fire that erupted in a steel barn and damaged a pickup truck as well as other contents.

The fire appears to have started by the truck which was hooked up to an electrical block heater, according to fire officials.

A John Deere lawn tractor was also damaged.

A damage estimate on the building was not immediately available.

Crews in Xenia Twp. are responding to a reported barn fire in the 1100 block of Nash Road.

Smoke was reported coming from a steel barn shortly before noon.
