Bicyclist flown to hospital after being hit by vehicle in Springfield; Police searching for driver

SPRINGFIELD — A bicyclist was flown by medical helicopter after they were hit by a vehicle in Springfield Thursday, and police are now searching for the vehicle and driver involved.

The crash was reported on South Yellow Springs Street and West Euclid Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim, who was not identified, was first transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center but was later flown to another hospital by CareFlight medical helicopter. The victim’s condition was not released.

After hitting the bicyclist, the vehicle involved didn’t stop and fled the scene. Officers are searching for the vehicle and driver, but a description of the suspected vehicle was not released.
