Bellbrook grad performs in Super Bowl halftime show

BELLBROOK — A 2017 Bellbrook High School grad performed tonight in the Super Bowl halftime show watched by millions.

Connor Sparrow, a freshman at the University of Minnesota, plays the saxophone for the “Pride of Minnesota” marching band.

He played during “Suit and Tie” and danced during the finale, his mother, Kristi Sparrow said.

She wasn’t even watching the Super Bowl LII between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots played at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

“I’m just interested in the halftime show,” she said.

Connor Sparrow, who has been playing the saxophone since sixth grade, is majoring in music education and hopes to become a high school band director, his mother said.

“Minnesota’s been very good to him. He’s had a fantastic, fantastic experience with the marching band.”
