Beavercreek Twp. fire department uses rainy weather to train on water rescues

BEAVERCREEK TWP., Greene County — It might not be an ideal day to be canoeing on the river, but firefighters said the heavy overnight rain led to ideal conditions for training.

Firefighters with the Beavercreek Twp. Fire Department were out on the Little Miami River near the intersection of Factory and Indian Ripple Roads around 10 a.m.

They were practicing water rescues on the water using ropes and other equipment to simulate rescue situations.

River levels have been rising as heavy rain pounded the region over the last 24 hours.
