“On (Jan. 12) at approximately (6:05 p.m.), the reporting person found the child victim in his crib, unresponsive,” the police report says. “This death is under investigation.”
The report says the child died between 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11 and 6:05 p.m. Jan. 12. It is unclear what caused the child’s death and when the child died, nor why there is a full day between when the baby could have died and when police were called.
Springfield police declined to comment, saying the case is under investigation.
