Arrest made in Miamisburg home burglary

MIAMISBURG — Miamisburg police have arrested a man who was found standing over a 10-month-old in a home burglary.

Justin Sherwood, 36, was arrested on a charge of felony trespassing.

Sherwood told police he entered the wrong residence around 11:15 p.m. Friday on Cottage Avenue. Before realizing his mistake, he was involved in a confrontation with the homeowner, according to Miamisburg police Sgt. Jeff Muncy.

The suspect ran out of the house, leaving behind his cellphone and glasses. Police were able to confirm Sherwood was their suspect through the phone, Muncy said.

The victim told News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy he woke up out of a dead sleep to see a man standing over his son’s crib.

“I just immediately attacked him and was just trying to get him away from my son.”
