At least two drivers called 911 Sunday evening to report a wrong-way driver on southbound I-75 in Dayton just moments before the car crashed into a gasoline tanker truck.
One 911 caller said a man driving a tan car almost crashed into his car.
“He’s going to run into somebody, no doubt,” the 911 caller said. He said the wrong-way driver was going at least 65 to 70 MPH.
Another 911 caller told dispatchers she witnessed the car going northbound in southbound lanes.
“I had to do a double take,” she said. “The car was going the wrong way.”
The car crashed into a tanker truck near the Main Street exit just before 5 p.m. The driver of the car was killed.
