Moraine woman reported missing has been located, is safe

MORAINE — (UPDATE @ 8:06 p.m.): Hester Janet Rooks, the Moraine woman who was the subject of an endangered missing adult alert, has been located and is safe.

Rooks was located in Piqua by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, according to Moraine police dispatch.

A Moraine woman who suffers from dementia is missing, and police need the public’s help locating her.

The Moraine Police Department issued a Missing Adult Alert for Hester Janet Rooks, 78, after she left her home on Springboro Park Tuesday and did not return, according to a press release from the Ohio Attorney General Missing Persons Unit.

Rooks is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has gray hair and blue eyes.

Police are also asking the public to lookout for a silver 2004 Cadillac SRX with Ohio plate number GXZ1969.

The Cadillac pictured above is not the actual SUV but an example.
